It may have been a while since they broke up but "Taken 3" star Maggie Grace still maintains a close friendship with her ex-boyfriend, Ian Somerhalder.

The 31-year-old beauty opened up about her former flame and her current love life in the latest issue of New You, in which she divulged that he and Somerhalder are still on good terms with each other.

"Ian Somerhalder and I are still very good friends," she said of her former "Lost" co-star, who recently got engaged to "Twilight" actress Nikki Reed.

But while she may have dated the "Vampire Diaries" hottie once upon a time, Grace admitted that being in a relationship with non-actors is easier, notes Us Weekly.

In fact, she hinted that she is currently in a relationship with someone and it doesn't seem like this one's an actor.

"I haven't dated too many actors," she told the lifestyle magazine. "I did when I was really young, for a couple of years...but it's nothing against actors...You can certainly reconcile schedules with actors but it takes some doing, and I just don't have that energy."

Grace also talked about how she juggles her acting career and personal life, telling New You that it is: "sometimes a dance, managing my time, but since I have a secure base and feel anchored, I'm able to take risks in work and life."

"I think of relationships as having a really safe place with someone where you are, and making an effort to show up every day—to see them and feel seen, especially as an actor when you're already pretending to be other people all the time. It's an incredible gift to feel seen by one person; a culture of two," she continued.

The actress also revealed how she keeps her body in tip-top shape.

"I center my meals around green things, unless I'm cooking for a crowd," she said. "I stock my fridge with food that makes me feel great—veggies and lean protein, and don't even have anything that I couldn't really go to town on."

She continued: "On a rushed day, my quick snack options are a spoonful of almond butter or veggies and hummus. I love cooking with coconut oil, and don't eat processed foods at all...For exercise, I like kettle-bells a lot, especially when I travel. I also love to be outdoors and hike when I have the luxury."

Grace also gushed about her "Taken" co-star Liam Neeson, who plays her father in the hit franchise, describing him as "family."

"Liam's like a father figure to me—so protective and thoughtful with a very generous spirit. He's a man of substance and he doesn't make any decisions lightly," she said of her co-star.

"There's a danger in this genre, where things can become easier and easier for an empowered, flawless hero. What Liam brings to his role is a sense of real humanity," she added.

The New You issue featuring "Taken 3" star Maggie Grace hits newsstands Feb. 10.
