Disney is reportedly working on a reboot of "Indiana Jones" and sources claimed that they're looking at Chris Pratt to take up the iconic whip and fedora, New York Daily News reported.

Deadline broke the news, claiming that sources informed them that Disney is eyeing a revival of the franchise after buying the rights in 2013 from Paramount Pictures. While talks are still in the early stages, they've already set their sights on "The Guardian of the Galaxy" star to take over the role of the treasure hunter and archeologist made famous by Harrison Ford.

When HuffPost Entertainment approached Disney and Pratt's rep about the reports, Disney declined to comment as of yet while Pratt's rep simply said there was nothing to report.

Reports of the Indy remake have been appearing since last year. In March, news even popped up that Disney was allegedly planning to go the "James Bond" route by casting unknown or new actors for the role, while other reports claimed that the likes of Bradley Cooper and Justin Kroll were also eyed as possible leading men.

Pratt certainly isn't a new face with his Marvel fame and upcoming "Jurassic World" film, but the funnyman has proven his mettle when it came to action films which Disney may have picked up on if they really are looking for him to lead the franchise reboot.

Expectations will be high though as "Indiana Jones" is a valuable asset for Disney after acquiring it from Lucasfilm at a hefty price of $4 billion back in 2012, according to NYDaily News.

Before all the hubbub though, fans might remember that Indy himself, Ford, claimed he would reprise the role in a heartbeat if invited to, according to Toronto Sun.

During an interview in 2013, Ford said, "It's perfectly appropriate and okay for him to come back again with a great movie around him where he doesn't necessarily have to kick as much a**."

Fans can only wonder how Ford will take the news if Disney does go ahead with a reboot and takes up Pratt.
