"Mission: Impossible" fans will get their Christmas present much earlier this year as the fifth installment to the Tom Cruise-starred action flicks has been moved ahead.

Paramount and Skydance Productions revealed that "Mission: Impossible 5" will hit theaters five months earlier on July 31, instead of the previously announced release date Dec. 25, E! News first reported.

The film producers didn't specify the reason for moving up the release date, but box office history indicates big numbers for action movies when released on the final weekend of July. "Guardians of the Galaxy," one of 2014's highest-grossing films, was released around this time last year.

Unfortunately, another movie is being pushed back to Christmas. Along with announcing "Mission: Impossible 5's" new release date, Paramount also delivered the bad news that animated film "Monster Trucks" will hit theaters December instead of the originally planned May.

Meanwhile, fans can look forward to seeing Cruise's craziest and most impressive stunts on the big screen a little earlier this year.

One of these dangerous stunts saw Cruise hanging from the tail of an Airbus A400 M aircraft while flying 5,000 feet over the U.K. countryside.

The actor also almost sustained injuries in the middle of shooting when he was nearly hit by a double decker bus in a London street.

When asked by E! News during the 2011 premiere of "Mission: Impossible—Ghost Protocol" if he was tired of doing his own stunts yet, he confidently replied: "Not yet, not yet. I'm sure there will be, but not yet."

The filming for "Mission: Impossible 5" is currently underway. After filming gruelling stunts in London's Piccadilly Circus, Cruise, who reprises his role as Ethan Hunt for the fifth time, has moved over to the city's East End to shoot the next scenes.

The 52-year-old action star was spotted looking dapper in a black suit and white button-down shirt as he boarded a barge on an east London canal with co-star Simon Pegg, 44, Monday, according to Daily Mail.

Cruise stars in the fifth installment of the "Mission: Impossible" franchise alongside Alec Baldwin, Rebecca Ferguson and Ving Rhames.
