Gigi Hadid is "really competitive".

The 19-year-old model - who was recently unveiled in Vogue as the face of Maybelline cosmetics - has confessed playing team sports at high school left her with a competitive streak which helps her to push herself in the gym and maintain her slender physique. In an interview with Into The Gloss she confessed:

"I'm really competitive - I'm an athlete and played volleyball all through high school - so working out is fun for me. My trainer will tell me the women's records for different things at the gym, and I'll have to beat one by the end of the day or I won't leave."

While the blonde beauty loves working out, she also has a "weakness" for fast food and confessed to gorging on McDonald's with her boyfriend, Australian singer Cody Simpson.

She said: "I lived in a tour bus with my boyfriend in Europe, sleeping in bunk beds and eating McDonald's every day. When I got back I wasn't feeling amazing and had to have a vegetable.

"I make my own food all the time... But burgers and fries are my weakness."

Gigi - who made her modelling debut at just two-years-old - prefers to keep her look casual when she isn't in front of the camera and opts for jeans and t-shirts in place of revealing "girly-girl" dresses when she goes out with friends.

She went on to say in the interview: "It's funny because in real life you'll see me at a party in, like, boyfriend jeans and a t-shirt and heels. I'm not really one to put on a push-up bra or short shorts or tight little mini dresses, I get all of that out with work. That's how I use up my girly-girl side; I'm not as feminine in my everyday life."
