Producer Michael Schur revealed that Paul Rudd will reprise his role as Bobby Newport in two episodes for the final season of "Parks and Recreation," according to Entertainment Weekly.

"He's the world's nicest human being-and the funniest. We made a list of all the people that we wanted to have back and he was high on the list, so we managed to snag him," Schur said.

Rudd played as the childlike Bobby in the fourth season of the show. Bobby is a member of the Newport family and an heir to Sweetums fortune. The character was defeated by Leslie Knope - played by Amy Poehler - for the city council post, according to Cinema Blend.

The producer was asked about Bobby's appearance in the seventh and final season.

"Ben [Adam Scott] needs to fill a certain position and he thinks that Bobby might be a good candidate," Schur replied.

Aside from Rudd, Schur tapped a number of actors to appear in the last season of "Parks and Recreation."  Rashida Jones, who played Leslie's best friend Ann Perkins, will reportedly come back to wrap up her character's storyline.

Schur also talked about the importance of Jones' role in the series, Christian Today has learned.

"The entire series is predicated on Ann Perkins coming to a small public forum and complaining about something in her neighborhood ... That was literally the design of the show, and it just wouldn't have felt right if we didn't have Ann back in one episode, at least. I'm really happy that it all worked out," the producer said.

"Parks and Recreation" is determined to give its viewers a great finale. NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt has good things to say about the show, reports Christian Post.

"Mike Schur and Amy Poehler, along with their incredible producers, cast and crew, have given us one of the great television comedies of all time, and we're inordinately proud of 'Parks and Recreation," Greenblatt said.

"Parks and Recreation" will air its first episode for the final season on Jan. 11, 2015 and will start the back to back episodes on Jan.13, 2015 on NBC.
