Dreaming of a beautiful wedding dress with a record-long train? Look to Romania for help.

A world record was shattered Tuesday, when a Romanian design house revealed a dress with a train that stretches out to be 1.85 miles.

That's roughly the width of Manhattan.

It took 15,420 feet of Italian taffeta, 18.04 feet of Chantilly lace, 147.64 feet of lining, 1,857 sewing needles and 150 spool threads to complete the dress.

Furthermore, 10 seamstresses spent almost 100 days to create the dress, which costs $7,300 in materials alone.

The "Longest Bridal Train" on the Guinness Book of World Records was thus renewed by Andree Salon fashion house, snatching the throne from the previous record holder from the Netherlands.

The victory is sweet as the Netherlands opposed Romania's entry into the European Union's visa-free travel zone.

"If the Netherlands does not allow us into Europe, we'll take them out of the world records book," organizer Alin Caraman told the Associated Press.

Romanian model Emma Dumitrescu, 17 years old, wore the gown and took a ride in a hot air balloon, dramatically flaunting the train of the dress in the air.
