Sam Smith, Betty Who and A Great Big World bagged awards in the field of music at the NewNowNext awards on Tuesday night at Miami South Beach's Surfcomber Hotel, Ace Showbiz reported.

British crooner Smith was awarded as the Best New Male Musician of the night, beating out Nick Jonas, Paolo Nutini and John Newman, while Austrian singer Who won as the Best New Female Musician over Iggy Azalea, Meghan Trainor and Charlie XCX.

For the Best New Group on the other hand, the duo of A Great Big World won the award over Pentatonix, Bastille and Bleachers.

Bianca del Rio, Jonathan Groff and Lorraine Toussaint went home with awards in the arena of television, while Natalie Dormer and Ansel Elgort won awards for their films, according to The Back Lot.

Del Rio was awarded as the Best New TV Personality for "RuPaul's Drag Race," while HBO's "Looking" won the Best New TV Series award and its leading man Groff won as Best New TV Actor. Toussaint won as Best New TV Actress thanks to her role on "Orange is the New Black."

Dormer won Best New Lead Film Actress for "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" while Elgort won Best New Lead Film Actor for "The Fault In Our Stars." The Best New Motion Picture by a New Filmmaker award went to Justin Simian for "Dear White People" while Best New Screenwriter went to Gillian Flynn for "Gone Girl."

"Glee" actors Darren Criss and Kristin Chenoweth served as the award show hosts, with Chenoweth performing her song "Coming Home," according to People.

Jessie J also performed at the show with "Burnin' Up," while Nick Cannon, Molly Tarlov, Michael J. Willett and Katie Stevens made appearances.

The NewNowNext Awards will air on Dec. 7 at 8 p.m. on Logo TV and on Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. on MTV, according to Ace Showbiz.
