Natalie Portman is rumored to be having negotiations to take part in the upcoming biopic of Apple founder Steve Jobs, I Know Today reported.
Should Portman be accepted, she will be the third actor to join the cast, following "X-Men" actor Michael Fassbender, who will play Jobs, and "Inglorious Basterds" actor Seth Rogen, who will play co-founder Steve Wozniak.
It is unknown what role the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actress might play, but rumors have it that she will either portray the daughter of Jobs or the head of the Mac team's marketing department Joanna Hoffman.
The upcoming biopic has been subjected to major changes in the past few months with its change in cast and the adoption by a new studio, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Universal Pictures has taken over the project that was initially under Sony Pictures, slapping down $30 million to buy the rights to the film.
They were also forced to change their leading man after "Batman" actor Christian Bale withdrew earlier this month and "Inception" actor Leonardo DiCaprio bowed out before him. Producers has since signed on Fassbender for the role.
The film's original director, David Fincher, dropped out earlier this year, putting Danny Boyle at the helm of the film.
The upcoming Jobs biopic is set to be written by Aaron Sorkin and produced by Guymon Casady, Scott Rudin and Mark Gordon. It is based on the 2011 biography "Steve Jobs" written by Walter Isaacson. There has been no announcement made on the movie's official title or an estimated release date.
The film will be the second Jobs biopic film in recent years, following 2013's "Jobs." The film was directed by Joshua Michael Stern and the role of Jobs was portrayed by Ashton Kutcher.
Meanwhile, Portman debuted her first directorial film "A Tale Of Love And Darkness," which is based on the memoir of Israeli writer Amos Oz. She will also star in the upcoming "Jane Got A Gun" by Director Gavin O'Connor, and is taking part on the mash-up film by Burr Steers titled "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies," according to Deadline.
