"Pitch Perfect 2" released the official trailer for its anticipated sequel was released on Thursday, E! News reported.

The trailer for the sequel to the 2012 musical film has been unveiled on YouTube and it sees the return of the all-girl a capella group, The Barden Bellas.

The trailer starts off with Beca and The Bellas singing an a capalla version of their song "Cups" and the girls are seen hanging out, having a sleepover, sitting around a campfire while roasting marshmallows, and having pillow fights. All the fun and games get cut off as the girls are seen taking part in the a cappella World Championships.

Fans and viewers will see the return of The Bellas' rival a capella group, The Treblemakers, as well as other groups from all over, from the multilingual to the muscular to the talented. Things are also shown heating up between The Bellas' Fat Amy and The Trebles' Bumper Allen.

However, they're faced with a dilemma.

"No American team has ever won," said Gail.

"That's because they hate us," her co-commentator, John, added.

In anticipation of their return, several of the cast members have taken to their social media accounts.

Rebel Wilson, who plays Fat Amy, tweeted, "WE'RE BACK PITCHES #PitchPerfect2," while newcomer Hailee Steinfeld posted the official movie poster on her Instagram and captioned it with "THE PITCHES ARE BACK + 1 (me)."

Brittany Snow, who plays Chloe Beale, also posted a picture on Twitter of herself with co-stars Wilson and Anna Kendrick on the cover of Entertainment Weekly's 2014 Holiday Gift Guide. She caption it with "Our #PitchPerfect2 cover for @ew And yes @AnnaKendrick47 leg is around me... And I like it. @RebelWilson."

"Pitch Perfect 2" was directed and produced by Elizabeth Banks. It will see the return of cast members Kendrick as Beca Mitchell, Wilson as Fat Amy, Snow as Chloe Beale, Anna Camp as Aubrey Posen, Skylar Astin as Jesse Swanson, Adam Devine as Bumper Allen, Banks as Gail Abernathy, and more.

Joining them are newcomers Katey Sagal and Steinfeld, who will play mother and daughter, while linebacker Clay Matthews and former NFL player Jordan Rodgers are set to make cameos.

"Pitch Perfect 2" is scheduled to hit the big screen on May 15, 2015.
