Hip hop mogul Suge Knight and comedian Katt Williams were arrested Wednesday for felony robbery charges, reports CNN.
Knight and Williams allegedly stole a camera from a female celebrity photographer on September 5 outside of a music studio in Beverly Hills.
Knight, the co-founder of Death Row Records, was taken into custody in Las Vegas. "My Wife and Kids" star Williams was arrested in Inglewood, California when he turned himself in at a court hearing for a separate criminal case.
"Mr. Knight was unaware that there was any warrant," Knight's attorney, Richard Schonfeld, told NBC News. "We will be addressing the circumstances in court.
Prosecutors have raised the bail at $1 million for Knight and $75,000 for Williams.
If found guilty, Knight, whose real name is Marion, will face up to 30 years in prison because of his previous conviction for assault with a deadly weapon. Williams, whose real name is Micah, will face a maximum sentence of seven years, says Reuters.
The alleged robbery incident happened a couple of weeks after Knight was shot multiple times, along with two other people, at Chris Brown's pre-party for the MTV Video Music Awards.
The pair have been involved in different run-ins with the law over the years, the Los Angeles Times reports.
In 2012, they were detained and cited for "public disturbance" and parking violations.
In 2009, Knight was arrested for battery. The year before that, he was taken into custody for assault and drug possession charges. The rap producer served four years in jail - from 1997 until 2001 - for violating his probation from an earlier assault case.
Knight founded Death Row Records in the 1990s and produced some of the records of prominent hip hop artists such as Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg.
Williams started as a stand-up comic and eventually made movies, most notably alongside Eddie Murphy in "Norbit."
