Samsung Electronics officially launched the Galaxy Note 4 in Lagos, Nigeria Friday, Oct. 24, The Tribune reported.

Galaxy Note 4 is the latest addition to the Galaxy Note family of phones and the device was formally unveiled at the Ikeja City Mall Experience Store in Lagos.

"The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is a powerful, original approach that enables its users to tell the stories of their lives through dynamic and seamless expressions of their passions across work, play and life experiences," said Brovo Kim, the Managing Director of Samsung Electronics West Africa.

Emmanouil Revmatas, Director of information Technology and Mobile for Samsung Electronics West Africa, described the Galaxy Note 4 as "a testament to Samsung's leadership and innovation in the smartphone market and its commitment to developing best-in-class products to meet the ever-changing needs of its consumers."

The Galaxy Note 4 retains several features similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 3, but also has more features and improvements, according to Leadership.

Galaxy Note 4 retains its predecessor's 5.7-inch screen, but now has a Quad High Definition Super AMOLED technology that stretches to 515 pixels per inch, allowing users to enjoy sharper images, brighter colors and a faster performance.

Galaxy Note 4 features a metal trim and premium leather-feel back cover. It also optimizes an adaptive screen view which adjusts depends on the available lighting surrounding the user, a powerful 3220mAh battery that charges faster than before, and improved S Pen which comes with several writing options and the ability to edit images using the device's Snap Note feature.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 in Nigeria is now available for purchase in all authorized Samsung partner stores.

Africa is definitely booming in the area of telecommunications and mobile phones not just with Samsung's new release but also with the plans of Wiko, MTN Group and Millicom and Deezer, IT News Africa stated.

French mobile phone manufacturer Wiko set its sights on Nigeria's mobile phone market and introduced 10 of its devices to the country Wednesday, Oct. 22. They also planned to commence a nationwide campaign in November.

MTN Group, a South Africa-based multinational mobile telecommunications company, offered the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus to stores on Friday, Oct. 24. Telecommunications and media company Millicom has partnered with music streaming service Deezer to launch music in five Tigo markets in Ghana.
