Stella McCartney brought magical surprise to London Fashion Week at her first return to London catwalk show in 16 years.
The Saturday night event at an elegant hall began as a formal sit-down dinner with jazz band.
Models dressed in McCartney new collection of marbled silk gowns sat among the guests.
Then the Dutch magician Hans Klok took over the stage, levitating Alexa Chung on three swords - an appetizer before the real show.
As the models seated among the guests jumped onto the center of the tables, performing a ballet.
The dinner turned into a flash mob of supermodels, tossed and gyrated by male dancers as they performed party tricks.
Models danced on and off tables, stepping from chair to chair with ballet lifts and twirls.
Well indicated by the performance, Stella McCartney Winter 2012 London Evening Collection was everything but traditional, featuring marbled patterns, floral prints and bright peacock colors of deep blue, turquoise and orange.
Among the guests were Rihanna, Kate Moss, and American Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
"It was fab," said Rihanna.
"I love magic and that was pretty magic," Stella McCartney told Grazia. "We wanted to do something special for London Fashion Week."
