Chrissy Teigen reportedly quit social media after receiving death notes following her Twitter post about the Canadian shooting on Thursday, People has learned.

The 28-year-old supermodel and wife of "All of Me" hit maker John Legend got criticized for her opinion on the incident.

"I feel sick. Bye Twitter. Taking my talents to Instagram," she posted on her Twitter page after being targeted by users of the social networking site.

After reports of a gunman shooting a corporal at the National War Museum in Ottawa came out Wednesday, Teigen took to Twitter to voice out her thoughts. "Active shooting in Canada, or as we call it in America, Wednesday," she wrote.

The model was immediately targeted by Twitter users who posted unpleasant comments on her page, US Weekly reported.

Teigen had posted another comment, saying she is sorry that people don't understand that the incident is a knock at America and the country has issues with gun control, according to In Touch.

The Fox News host Andrea Tantaros also criticized Teigen on TV for her comments.

"This is the problem when models start to talk, it plays into that dumb model stereotype," said Tantaros during the Outnumbered show.

Teigen wrote on Twitter Thursday morning that she can't find anything through the sea of hate and anger that is now on her Twitter and she can't sift through it all.

Despite being bombarded with death threats, the model still refused to apologize for her post.

She has since tweeted that she is not apologizing and it is the fault of anyone who takes her comments wrong.

"I'm not apologizing. If you take it wrong, that is your fault," wrote Teigen.

Meanwhile, Ottawa's downtown was placed in lockdown on Wednesday afternoon as police sought two other gunmen, Daily News reported.

The incident is considered the second deadly assault on a uniformed member of Canada's armed forces in three days.
