"Keeping Up With the Kardashians" stars Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner have spoken about being part of Time magine's 25 Most Influential Teens, according to E! News.

"We are so honored to be included on the Time magazine list of 'Most Influential Teens," said the sisters in a statement. "There are incredible teens on this list and we are so proud to be in their company."

The younger sisters of Kim Kardashian were lauded alongside Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai, presidential daughters Sasha and Malia Obama, singer-composer Lorde and other young people who have made a mark in their own industries and rights.

Their inclusion in the list, however, was not welcomed by many, according to an article by Radar. People who opposed the idea of the sisters being part of the list took to Twitter to slam the magazine.

"Kendall & Kylie Jenner were named on Time Magazine's List for most influential teens of 2014 .... Ha ha ha what is happening to the world," wrote Twitter user @heyheyitskylaaa (quote via OK magazine).

Meanwhile, talk show host Wendy Williams backed the magazine's decision. "They are influential to teens!" she said on Tuesday on her program. "Either teen girls want to look like them...or dress like them. They follow them on Instagram. They should be on this list, that's all!"

Time magazine described the sisters as young girls to watch out for, saying: "Together, the 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' co-stars hosted red-carpet events, released clothing and nail polish lines and even published a dystopian young-adult novel this past summer (though yes, they had some help). But they've had solo success too - Kendall with modeling (she's walked the runway for designers like Marc Jacobs) and Kylie with pseudo-entrepreneurship (she's launching a line of hair extensions and hopes to get into acting). Next up: a multimillion-dollar mobile game?"
