After spending most of the second half of "The Walking Dead" Season 4 trying to find each other, Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Glenn's (Steven Yeun) relationship will not be on the rocks when the mega-hit zombie show returns on AMC for its fifth season Sunday, Oct. 12.

"We're not going to see a lot of rockiness between Maggie and Glenn, but I think we are going to see a depth in that relationship," revealed Cohan during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "They're pretty rock solid. It's almost like you can take the whole span of a marriage, in terms of the challenges and the ups and downs a couple can go through, and you see them go through that in seven months, or however long it's been... they are stronger than ever."

Cohan, 32, who is also known for her portrayal of Bela Talbot on The CW's "Supernatural," added that Maggie and Glenn know each other so much that they have this sort of unspoken communication.

"Finding each other spoke so much to their connection," explained the American-born English actress. "Knowing that the other one would be there, would be in Terminus and they would somehow find their way to the same place."

The "Chuck" actress also told EW that she loves playing Maggie and Glenn's relationship, most especially because the two characters are "a rock and roll couple that really have each other's backs and they're both badass and it's not about one being the protector of the other. It's just about the support from each making them so strong, both separately and together."

"But in terms of character development, we learn a lot more about them each as individuals this year, which has been great," Cohan added. "You know, it's an independent togetherness. What was Gwyneth Paltrow's thing? Conscious uncoupling? Independent togetherness? [Laughs]"

At Fan Expo Canada in Toronto last August, Cohan opened up about why she thinks romance is important for Glenn and Maggie.

"At least for the character, it helps keep you sane," Cohan said of the romantic relationship between the two characters, according to Comic Book Resources.  "It's so funny. Even during the show, you need a hug a lot of the time from the emotional [strain] that it is. It is important to see these things and that people find love."

While details about what is actually in store for Maggie and Glenn in Season 5 are being kept under wraps, rumors have it that the couple will welcome a child together some time in the future. The speculation broke right after the release of a " The Walking Dead" comic book cover, where Maggie was holding a baby in her arms. The speculation was further fueled by previous reports that one of the new locations for next season is a hospital and that the show was reportedly in need of an old sonogram machine, Christian Today reported.
