Adele is stealing all the buzz as the Grammy Awards fast approaches and recent headlines centered around Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld's comment that the British pop singer is "a little too fat."
February 12 will mark Adele's much-anticipated return to the stage, ever since her vocal cord surgery in November.
The 23-year old is nominated for six categories in the Grammys, including Album of the Year for "21," the No.1 album in the U.S. that has sold over 6 million copies so far. 2011's biggest-selling song "Rolling in the Deep" too is nominated for Record of the Year.
"It's an absolute honor to be included in such a night, and for it to be my first performance in months is very exciting and of course nerve-racking, but what a way to get back into it all," Adele said in a statement.
The Grammy night is sure to be dramatic for Adele fans eager to see how her deeply emotional titles will rule the night.
The 54th annual Grammy Awards takes place in downtown Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, Karl Lagerfeld's recent comment on Adele added some buzz, but the soul singer isn't so naive to waver at such rudeness.
"She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice," commented the famous 78-year-old Chanel designer who is quite infamous for his explosive public outbursts. The comment was made as he was guest editing Metro.
Adele, however, wouldn't take it to heart.
"I enjoy being me. I always have done. I've seen people where it rules their lives, you know, who want to be thinner or have bigger boobs, and how it wears them down. And I just don't want that in my life," Adele told British Vogue last year.
"It's just never been an issue -- at least, I've never hung out with the sort of horrible people who make it an issue. I have insecurities of course, but I don't hang out with anyone who points them out to me."
Well said, Heartbreak Superstar!
"I've never wanted to look like models on the cover of magazines," says Adele, according to People Magazine. "I represent the majority of women and I'm very proud of that."
That just makes us love her more.
