"Scandal's" fourth season is set to kickoff on Thursday, September 25 and some of the biggest cast members were on "The Ellen Show" ahead of the said premiere.

On Thursday morning, cast members of the hit ABC series appeared on "The Ellen Show" where they tried to spill secrets and trivia about their fellow actors.

The cast members were divided into two teams - one is made up of the White House team and the other is made up of Olivia Pope's people.

However, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres took note that the White House team lacked at least one more member and as she was about to call on someone from the audience, Kerry Washington stopped her and surprised her with a contestant, according to US Weekly.

The 56-year-old comedian was surprised when her wife, Portia de Rossi suddenly came out and played in the White House team.

Prior to the game, each of the cast members wrote a secret on a piece of paper that their other cast members would be tasked to guess.

Washington's team was made up of Darby Stanchfield, Katie Lowes, Guillermo Diaz and Joshua Malina, while the White House team was made up of Jeff Perry, Tony Goldwyn, Bellamy Young, Scott Foley and de Rossi.

Meanwhile, DeGeneres' reaction to her wife's arrival on set may have just shunned rumors about a possible breakup.

Not only was the talk show host surprised, she also gushed over the fact that she was just texting with de Rossi the entire day when she suddenly bailed on her just like that.

To her surprise, the reason had to do with the "Unbearable Lightness of Being" author's involvement in the hilarious and highly entertaining segment.

Earlier this month, DeGeneres has also poked fun on the rumors during the premiere episode of "The Ellen Show," Classicalite reported.

"I had a great summer. I went on a trip with Portia, my beautiful wife - who I'm happily married to, but thank you for your heartfelt concern, tabloids," she teased.
