Pornography website PornHub has launched label Pornhub Records, its venture into music, and is mounting a contest to find its official anthem, says a Billboard report.

The adult entertainment company kick-started its foray into the music business by signing rapper Coolio last summer for his sexually explicit single "Take It to the Hub" and the track's bawdy music video, according to Vice. Now, PornHub is preparing to sign artists to its new brand.

"We've always seen a strong music presence from the beginning of PornHub," the company's PR and marketing head Matt Blake told Billboard. "Artists upload their own stuff, like uncensored tracks and R-rated versions of songs. Some people come in and upload exclusive videos, so it creates a buzz for them," he said.

Apart from Coolio, artists had debuted their videos on the site well before the label's launch, according to Entertainment Weekly. New York-based electronic producer FaltyDL released the video for his single "Some Jazz Shit" through the site in June, and experimental post-punk group Xiu Xiu premiered their "Black Dick" video on PornHub early this year.

In addition to launching its music publishing arm, the website for which went live on Wednesday, PornHub has also announced its search for an official "anthem" by way of a contest. The winner will receive $5,000 with which to make the video for the composition.

The video will also be featured on Pornhub.tv and given a guarantee of 500,000 views. Billboard notes this figure might be too low an approximation considering the site receives 40 million views a day and Coolio's video received 500,000 views a week after its release.

Blake and company vice president Corey Price said they are discussing with prominent artists to help them pick the winner for the contest but that Coolio will not be part of the judging panel.

Price said the contestant need not be "porn-focused." "We're an ad-based network looking for c ontent that appeals to our demographic. Mature lyrics for an adult audience; no boy bands or teen-pop, for instance," he said.

The VP said the website has already received about 50 submissions.

"Producers, music technicians, everyone in the business you could imagine," he said. "There's erotic folk, rap, country - everyone has come to us."
