Giorgio Armani will paint the skyline in Mumbai with a new agreement with Gruppo Lodha, a leading Indian real estate developer, to design and furnish both the apartments and the common spaces of the World Towers residential complex.
The new project, once finished, will be the tallest residential tower in the world- a 117 story skyscraper. The building will be accompanied by it smaller twin, aka World Crest to be unveiled in 2015. All the furniture will be customized by Armani Casa furniture and provided for World Residences featuring three to four bedrooms. The World Villas will include private swimming pools, while the World mansions, will comprise of two story flats with private swimming pools, gyms and lifts.
Giorgio Armani, president and chief executive officer of the Giorgio Armani Group, said in a statement that the World Towers is an all-encompassing undertaking that transforms their notions of architecture and technology, and is geared to create a new highest-possible aesthetic experience.
"It is the result of research with which I have been deeply involved, every solution from furniture to the finishes, has been designed to provide intimacy and create a sense of relaxation. These are qualities that the culture of the place has demonstrated to me. So I wanted to give this incredible city the style of Armani/Casa with a special quality: a play of light," said Armani, in the statement.
