James Blunt is now a married man!

The 40-year-old British singer-songwriter, who has achieved worldwide fame with his song "You're Beautiful," celebrated his wedding to Sofia Wellesley in the beautiful Mediterranean island of Majorca in Spain in front of close family and friends Friday, Sept. 19, Daily Mail reported.

Blunt and Wellesley, who is the granddaughter of the Duke of Wellington previously exchanged "I do's" in a private ceremony at a London registry office on Sept. 5, just one night after they attended Elton John's annual End of Summer party in Windsor.

"Sofia joked to friends that she was almost too hangover to get married," an insider told the British newspaper.

The newlyweds flew to Majorca, where Wellesley's parents Lord John Henry Wellesley and Corinne Vaes own a house.

A source told E! News that that their Spanish wedding celebration happened between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. local time, and that the party was held on the large and startling estate of Marsana owned by the Wellesley's mom.

After the lavish ceremony Friday, the couple left the venue in a bronze VW Beetle. Wellesley wore a long-sleeve lace dress and kept her blonde hair away from her face in a low bun, while Blunt looked dashing in a black suit, Us Weekly reported.

Another witness told E! News that Wellesley was a "gorgeous bride" and "looked amazing in her gown."

In an interview with the Daily Mail, the notoriously private Blunt opened up about his relationship to Wellesley. "It takes a strong person to be able to deal with somebody working in music," he said. "It's hard when you're with somebody and you become embroiled in something just because you were seen standing next to someone else."

He continued, "It takes a tough person to deal with that and I'm lucky to have her."

Blunt and Wellesley got engaged in December 2013 after a year of dating. Wellesley, who is a law graduate at Edinburgh University, is currently working as a legal consultant for a London based firm.
