80 designers across the globe will gather for the inaugural International Fashion Showcase during London's Fashion Week this February.

Prepared by the British Council and the British Fashion Council (BFC), the event will feature creations from 19 embassies and cultural institute from countries including Australia, Japan, United States, Belgium, China, Italy, and Korea.

The display will be available for public view, while BFC Ambassador for Emerging Talent Sarah Mower will chair an advisory panel to honor the countries winner- who will be announced February 19.

The purpose of the event is part of the Fashion 2012 Cultural Program celebrating the London Olympic Games this year.

Some participants include graduates from US design school Parsons; Xander Zhou, who was listed in the Forbes Top 25 most influential people in the Chinese fashion industry. Kaspar Paas, designer for John Lobb and winner of the Estonian You Designer Award, will lauch his own footwear label during this event.

Representing Australia will be emerging fashion labels such as Song For The Mute, Limedrop and Dress Up, and the Korean Cultural Centre will scout rising South Korean designers including Ara Joe, who has dressed singer Lady Gaga.

From February 17-21 Lond Fashion Week will, while February 22 will feature menswear.
