The source of the who is who among fashion icons comes from report published by WWD January 30 stating a host of stylist and designers offered their opinions on who will be the next fashion icons.

Phillip Block, a hollowood stylist credited for dressing Halle Berry and Salma Hayek, predicts flamboyant singers Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj and Lady Gaga will continue to set trends because of the rise in popularity of the "fantasy as fashion." Helen Job, director of lifestyle and culture at the global trend forecasting firm Stylesight, states the one to watch is hip hop star Banks.

A report published in WWD January 30 heard from a host of stylists and designers, offering their opinions on this year's biggest style influencers.

Hollywood stylist Phillip Bloch, who has dressed the likes of Halle Berry and Salma Hayek, predicts flamboyant singers Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj and Lady Gaga will continue to set trends thanks to a rise in "fantasy as fashion," although Helen Job, director of lifestyle and culture at global trend forecasting firm Stylesight, says the one to watch is hip-hop star Banks.

Banks recently performed at Karl Lagerfeld's home during dinner launching his new Line Karl to be sold at net-a-port.com. You can view the performance at https://youtu.be/4GIDvrRjkz4. Slightly earlier, her music also served as a backdrop to Mugler's menswear show.

In the category of cinema, designer Betsey Johnson foresees films like The Girl With the Dragon Tatto and My Week With Marilyn will contribute to this years dose of what's hot. Jesse Randall of Loeffer based out of New York, crowns Mara asa rising trend setter.

"[Mara's] blend of extreme toughness and feminine beauty is inspiring," explained Randall.

Other celebrities with a more low-key look also are catching eyes like actress Emma Stone of The Help and Woodley staring in The Decendents. They are expected to have some impact as well.

"[Stone] is getting a lot of coverage and interest," explains Job.

"She is not super new, but she is moving up to the A-list. She is young and she doesn't have the traditional Hollywood look. She seems a little more attainable, and everyone likes it when there is someone fresh on the scene."

To what extent The Hunger Games will have an impact is still uncertain, yet the heart surrounding this highly anticipated film will more than likely create a wave within fashion. Already the wave has began with a buzz surrounding Alexander McQueen peep-toe booties. Elizabeth Banks' character Effie Trinket can be previewed wearing them on the Capitol Couture Tumblr page came to existence in honor of The Hunger Games. A China Glaze nail polish line had also been inspired by the motion picture set to release synonymous with the films release in March.
