Karl Lagerfeld hosted a lavish evening of dining and fun Wednesday night. Waiters wait until the guests finished their 4th course and bring yet a 5th course. Covered in a domed tray, to everyone's surprise it was an iPad on a white plate. With a press of a button, the film clip devoted to the Karl range, showed on each tablet.
Still in the midst of the 5th round of food, there is room for more surprises. Pint-size rapper Azealia Banks shouted "I'm here! Hi, Mr. Lagerfeld," singing her debut single, "212." With haste, the designer ran out and offered a warm fatherly hug.
Cocktail time became a mini-exhibition of the new luxury range for the fall- Karl Lagerfeld Paris, and the rock-influenced Karl togs. All this within a 19th century townhouse.
Still another surprise came out on cue, "Pirates of the Caribbean" actress Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, dressed in a biker jacket announced she would film "Fièvre," ("Fever" in English) the next project for experimental director Philippe Grandrieux. She'll be playing a punk-rock-singer. Another peculiar upcoming film project with the title "Des Betteraves à Noël," translates roughly to "Beets for Christmas." She optimistically said " I think people will laugh."
