"Chicago Fire" star Molly Glynn was confirmed dead at the age of 46 after being struck by a falling tree while biking in suburban Chicago.

On Sunday, Glynn's husband and fellow actor Joe Foust poured out his thoughts via Facebook and said, "I couldn't save her. I couldn't save her. She's gone."

In another post, Foust wrote, "Love hard, people. Love hard."

Foust and Glynn were riding their bikes on the Forest Preserve Trail in Erickson Woods on Friday when a tree fell and struck the star. She was immediately transported to the Evanston Hospital in Chicago where she eventually passed away due to incurred injuries, according to the NY Daily News.

Glynn's husband also revealed that he was biking in front of his wife and encouraged her to take cover until the weather calmed down. However, within a few seconds, Foust heard a loud crack and saw a tree limb crashing down in his bike's rear-view mirror, HNGN reported.

"Friends, this is the darkest day of my life. Things will never be the same. Molly got hit by a falling tree while we were biking. At hospital now. Prognosis is grim," Foust wrote at the time of the accident.

Glynn is survived by her husband and two children, Chance, 17 and Declan, 13.

Michael Halberstam, artistic director of Writers Theater in Chicago, released a statement and said, "She was a loving mother and wife and everyone who met her fell in love with her. She possessed a rare combination of talent, heart and beauty in all aspects of her life."

David Rice, executive director of First Folio Theater and a close family friend remembered Glynn as a "loving and generous" person and an "incredibly talented actress," Aceshowbiz noted.

Glynn's appeared in some episodes of the shows "Boss" and "Early Edition."
