"The Walking Dead" Season 5 is just five weeks away and new spoilers of the hit series have surfaced alongside the release of new teaser photos and the official Season 5 poster.

In one of the exclusive teaser pics of "Walking Dead" Season 5, it appears that there's a dark future ahead for Glenn, Huffington Post has learned.

For show fans, who have followed the comic series, this may not be a shocking twist at all since the forthcoming season will be introducing a new villain.

Aside from the photo, a scene from the official trailer also shows that someone is going to take a swing at Glenn's head. Could this mean the end of actor Steven Yeun's character?

On the other hand, the official poster for Season 5 has already been unveiled, and a noticeable slogan seems to suggest that something is up for Andrew Lincoln's Rick Grimes.

"Hunt Or Be Hunted" reads the slogan and according to IGN this may refer to Grimes' fate in the all-new season.

The site also sees the slogan as the underlying motivation for all of the remaining characters when the show comes back on October 12.

The fifth run of the hit post-apocalyptic zombie series is composed of 16 episodes, as per executive producer Scott Gimple's statements. The first eight episodes will be aired this fall 2014 while the other eight are expected to air mid-2015.

The premiere episode titled "No Sanctuary" is said to pick up the storyline from where the fourth season left off, noted Christian Post.

During the San Diego Comic Con panel of the cast, the teaser video for the upcoming season teased that the show will be "brutal," "messy," "explosive" and "thrilling" when it returns.

Though in-depth spoilers and plot details are scarce as of late, it's clear that Rick will have to think of a way out of Terminus come hell or high water.
