Lifetime has officially unveiled the first trailer of "The Brittany Murphy Story," a biopic the will chronicle the life and times of the late actress Brittany Murphy.
The emotional trailer showcased some of the biggest highlights in Murphy's life, including her role in the famous '90s film "Clueless," her close relationship with her mother, her paranoia and struggles with depression and her relationship with her late husband, Simon Monjack, according to E! News.
In the trailer, actress Amanda Fuller is featured giving life to the character of Murphy herself. To make the clip even more emotional, Haddaway's "What is Love" is played in the background.
Towards the end of the clip, Simon Monjack's character, played by Eric Petersen, was featured telling reporters, "You all killed her!"
Sherilyn Fenn will portray the role of Murphy's mother, Sharon.
Murphy died in 2009 at the age of 32 from pneumonia and other causes. The actress' father later on demanded that the case be reopened because he suspected that his daughter's death was caused by poisoning, People Magazine reported.
Five months after her death, Monjack was also found dead in his apartment, the same publication noted.
Just a few months after his death, Monjack's mother, Linda released a statement and said, "I think there were financial problems before their deaths. They were certainly acting like there were problems. Sharon was asking friends for money and I don't know why."
Meanwhile, Murphy's mom, Sharon, was reportedly unhappy with Lifetime's decision to release a biopic centered on her daughter's life.
Sharon also revealed that she and her family members were not consulted by the network to create the film.
Lifetime previously revealed that the biopic guarantees to portray Murphy from a positive light, still it will feature the actress' troubled past and her family members are not necessarily pleased with that, Cosmopolitan noted.
"The Brittany Murphy Show" premieres on Saturday, September 6 on Lifetime.
