Ray J pleaded not guilty to charges he groped a woman and resisted arrest during a night out at the swanky Beverly Wilshire Hotel bar.

Ray J, whose real name is Willie Ray Norwood Jr., faces four misdemeanor counts, including sexual battery, vandalism, battery on a police officer and resisting arrest, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney's office.

The 33-year-old actor-singer entered the plea Tuesday, Aug. 19, through his lawyer Blair Berk, a court source told New York Daily News.

Ray J, who rose to fame for his 2007 sex tape with ex-girlfriend Kim Kardashian, was arrested shortly after 7:30 p.m. on May 30 when a woman at the posh bar claimed he grabbed her behind, The Los Angeles Times reported.

Prosecutors say he willfully touched the woman's "intimate part" for the "specific purpose of sexual arousal, sexual gratification and sexual abuse."

During his arrest, Ray J "subsequently entered the valet area and became belligerent with the valets and refused to leave," the Beverly Hills Police Department said.

When taken into police custody, the "Mars Attacks!" actor shattered a side window inside the patrol car with his feet, authorities said. Then he "became combative and spat into the face of one of the officers," read a portion of the police statement.

Ray J told TMZ at the time that he kicked out the window because he was claustrophobic.

He is scheduled to appear in the Los Angeles County Superior Court's Airport branch on Aug. 28 for a pretrial hearing of his misdemeanor case.

Ray J, is the brother of singer-actress Brandy Norwood. He will star in the upcoming VH1 reality show "Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood" along with YouTube sensation Soulja Boy. The show, which will document his budding relationship with his best friend and executive assistant Morgan Hardman, will premiere on Sept. 15.
