Casey Kasem's children are pleading for Norway to deny the radio icon's wife Jean Kasem's request to have him buried in Oslo.
Two months following his death, Jean wrote a request to the government of Norway, asking for permission whether or not Casey could be buried there, according to E! News.
However, Casey's children are opposing Jean's request and are demanding that their father be buried in California.
Kerri, one of Casey's children, released an official letter addressed to the Norwegian government.
"As beautiful as your country is, our father has never spoken of any desire to be buried in Norway either to us or to his friends. In fact, it was the opposite. Casey wanted to be buried in his hometown of Los Angeles, California, his home of over 53 years. We beg you, to please decline the request of Jean Kasem and her daughter Liberty to bury Casey Kasem in Norway," Kerri wrote.
On August 8, Jean wrote a letter to the Norwegian government where she stressed that her late husband "always said that Norway symbolizes peace and looks like heaven and I would like to respectfully fulfill his wishes," NBC News reported.
Jean also cited her desire to move to Norway as one of the main reasons why she wants Casey to be buried there, the same publication noted.
Meanwhile, Kasem's body is currently at an Oslo funeral home and has not yet been buried, Danny Deraney, a Los Angeles spokesman for the Kasem family confirmed to FOX News.
On Tuesday, Deraney also clarified that Kasem, who passed away on June 15 at the age of 82, following a lengthy battle over his care between his children and Jean, has no Norwegian blood.
He "does not have an ounce of Norwegian blood," he said in a statement.
Other friends and relatives of Kasem seconded his children's claims that he has always wanted to be buried in California.
