It looks like Sophia Bush is a single lady as the "Chicago P.D." actress and her boyfriend Dan Fredinburg have split.

According to Us Weekly, a source confirmed the break up news. The insider revealed, "They broke up in February," adding, "they still really care a lot about each other but it was impossible to remain a romantic relationship with the careers they have."

The two have clearly remained on good terms following the end of their relationship. Back in April, Sophia Bush confirmed that her ex-boyfriend was okay following a scary Mt. Everest avalanche.

The former "One Tree Hill" star took to her Twitter account and tweeted, "For all concerned, @danfredinburg & team are safe at Camp 1 on #Everest after the avalanche," adding, "Please keep the Sherpas in your prayers."

Back in April 2013, it was revealed that Bush and the Google program manager, both 32, were dating. At the time an insider said, He's "super intelligent -- and she really likes him."

The source went on to admit, "She's mentioned wanting to marry him and I won't be surprised if she gets engaged!"

The Fox starlet has done her best to keep her romance with Dan Fredinburg quiet for the majority of their relationship. The duo has only been seen stepping out as a couple publicly a few times.

However, last year, she couldn't help but gush about her man after he came out to support her at the Do Something Awards in Hollywood.

On July 31, 2013 Sophia Bush took to her Instagram account to talk about the special night. She wrote, "I usually shy away from personal stuff, but I'm feeling real emotional tonight...Hosting the @DoSomething Awards was a milestone for me."

The message continued, "And I wouldn't have been the same without this man by my side. Thank you, Dan, for loving my passion and my fight. Thank you for being the spark to my match."

Following her divorce from Chad Michael Murray, Sophia Bush dated her "One Tree Hill" costar Austin Nichols on-and-off for six years until their split in February 2012. The starlet spends most of her time on location in Chicago filming the second season of her NBC drama series "Chicago P.D."
