Although they are no longer dating, Cody Simpson ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid  are still very fond of each other and the Australian heartthrob is still holding out hope that they will be able to rekindle their romance one day.

According to the Daily Mail, the Surfboard singer, 17, who dated the Sports Illustrated model, 19, for a year briefly got back together when she joined him on his European tour last month.

However, the couple split once again because Cody Simpson feels he is too young and too busy for a "serious relationship."

He told "The Bump," "I have a best friend in Gigi. We've been together and we've been broken up for certain reasons and we've been back together and we've broken up again because we're always in different places working" adding, "It's complicated. Right now, I'm kind of single."

Although he still cares deeply for Gigi Hadid, Simpson is not ready to get back together. He confessed, "I will always have the most incredible amount of respect for her that will never fade. I'm sure things will rekindle one day."

The Blonde pop star has admitted that right now his career takes priority over his love life. He admitted, "I was too young and in too crazy a position to control a serious relationship and to be in it at this age."

During a chat with WWD, Hadid revealed that despite their break up, she will always be pals with her ex-boyfriend.

Kendall Jenner's pal explained, "I love Cody to death and he loves me. He needed his time to focus on his music and he's the one who broke up with me. We're still best friends and I'll always respect him and support his career."
