Kanye West was charged last year with criminal battery and attempted grand theft, after lashing out at a paparazzo, Daniel Ramos. Like usual, he just could not help but rant to lawyer Nate Goldberg. Keep reading to find out what he said!

"I'm the smartest celebrity you've ever f***ing dealt with. I'm not Britney Spears," the "Yeezus" rapper began.

"I'm in the business of trying to make dope s**t for the world. You're in the business of representing scums and trying to make as much money as long as there's this lapse in the law."

He continued, "We, as group of minorities here in L.A., as celebrities have to ban together to influence guys like this -- guys trying to take the picture, guys trying to get the big win, guys trying to get the check."

West will be arraigned for the charges on October 10. The theft was due to West attempting to take the camera after the incident. He explained at the Wireless Music Festival, where he was booed off the stage twice for ranting, that he learned that day his grandfather was dying.

"As he performed his verse on Clique, the rapper stopped the music to explain that the chorus of the song has special meaning to him. As he began the speech the crowd started to jeer but soon stopped and clapped when he continued with the song," a concertgoer told Mail Online.

"During his now routine speech during Runaway, he opened up about his paparazzi camera incident. He said he had just been at a deposition in regards to the case and explained that on the day of the incident, he was actually on the phone being told that his grandfather was not going to make it."

The source continued, "While the crowd cheered at first, they became tired and frustrated as the speech, which once again went on for 20 minutes with Kanye complaining that 'celebrities need to be allowed to have an off day as well.' They began to boo with one section of the crowd saying 'We want Drake.' But they cheered when the speech ended and were actually more receptive than yesterday."
