Big news for Lorde! The young songstress not only sings on the "Mockingjay - Part 1" soundtrack, but curated the album! The "Royals" crooner hand-picked the artists involved. How cool!

"I sat down with Lorde on the set of "Mockingjay" this spring and I was immediately struck by how she so innately understood what we, as both fans and filmmakers, were trying to accomplish with the film," the film's director Francis Lawrence told Billboard.

"Her immense talent and keen understanding of "Mockingjay's" characters and themes not only have enabled her to create a song of her own that completely captures the film's essence, but her insight and passion for our project make her the perfect creative force to assemble the other songs on our soundtrack. I can't wait to share what she's done with the fans -- it is truly remarkable."

Lorde released her own statement as well, reading, "Curating the soundtrack for such a hotly-anticipated film was a challenge, but I jumped at the chance."

"The cast and story are an inspiration for all musicians participating and, as someone with cinematic leanings, being privy to a different creative process has been a unique experience. I think the soundtrack is definitely going to surprise people."

The controversial singer made headlines earlier this month when she snubbed a group of fans at the airport.

"When she arrived in Sydney she didn't have to meet and greet her fans at the airport, she was taken off the tarmac," a source told Daily Mail Australia.

"In the same way Angelina Jolie was escorted from the plane with her children when she came here to film recently. A car was waiting for her a short distance from the plane... Lorde did not speak or meet with anyone - she was whisked away in a people carrier."

One fan expressed her disappointment on twitter, writing, "To those wanting to get photo/signatures from Lorde at the airport Ella's manager spoke to us saying she will not be taking photos etc."
