Shia LaBeouf is NOT in rehab after being arrested in NYC. Though the "Even Stevens" star was spotted in LA with an Alcoholics Anonymous book, E! News reports he is not in treatment, contrary to popular belief.

We told you last week that LaBeouf was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing. The incident took place at Studio 54 during a "Cabaret" performance. Police said the troubled star was disruptive and smoking cigarettes inside the venue.

"He was disruptive during act one and escorted out of Studio 54 at intermission," a spokesperson for the show said.

Sources told Us Weekly the star was "interacting with strangers during the show and slapping peoples' backsides."

He was released Friday morning after a court appearance. His next one is July 24.

He allegedly spat on a police officer and yelled at them, "F--k you. This is f--king bullshit. Do you know my life?"

"Do you know who the f--k I am?" he continued to rant. "Do you know who I am?"

LaBeouf admitted he struggled with alcohol to Details magazine in 2008.

"I don't ever remember getting arrested sober. I was always arrested drunk," the actor confessed to the publication.

"It's when I'm drinking that I don't have the wherewithal to be able to realize the position of my life. There's too much at stake for me to throw it away...And I don't want to throw away what I've worked so hard for 12 years to achieve, based on an argument that takes place in 20 minutes."

Liza Minnelli's rep sent LaBeouf "Cabaret" on DVD "so he could find out how it ends."

We sure hope he gets his life back on track! Do you agree? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
