Jennifer Lopez grew up in the Bronx before becoming an international superstar, but her children have a much better upbringing. The Latin songstress revealed in an interview she wants her twins, Emma and Max (whose father is Marc Anthony), to be grateful for their privileged lifestyle.

"They're growing up so differently than me," Lopez told Sirius XM on Thursday. "I grew up in The Bronx - we shared a bed until we were 16 and it was so different. [Emme] and [Max] have their own rooms; we live in a big house. When we go to Grandma's house they're like, 'Grandma's house is small."'

"It occurs to them that this is different, so my whole thing is about teaching them to be aware of the world and realizing that we are in a position now that we can help other people."

She went on to explain how she educates them on their advantage.

"I'm like, 'You realize that you don't just throw food out - we eat food and if we don't want it, we don't ask for it.' I'm always trying to put that in their minds. We're in a different position and we have to be more giving."

Lopez recently finalized her divorce from Marc Anthony, who she split from in 2011. She also recently broke up with backup dancer Casper Smart, who she dated for two and a half years after Anthony. The star seems to be coping well with the changes, and is even rumored to already be dating "Dancing with the Stars" alum Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

"I don't feel like I have anything to prove anymore. Things have changed so much for me. I had to really do some soul searching and just realize a lot of things about love, and now I feel stronger and better," she told Billboard.
