Peaches Geldof Died Of Heroin Overdose: Report

Peaches Geldof passed away at age 25 on April 7, and new reports suggest a heroin overdose is to blame. Her mother, Paula Yates, died from a heroin overdose in 2000, and Geldof was "haunted" by the death.

The daughter of rocker Bob Geldof was found by her husband Thomas Cohen slumped over a bed, while the Daily News suggests her son, Phaedra, was at her side. Geldof had battled with drugs in the past but stated she was sober in recent interviews.

"Recent use of heroin and the levels identified were likely to have played a role in her death," Detective Chief Inspector Paul Fotheringham of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate told The Telegraph.

Police did not find evidence of drug paraphernalia at the scene.

The day before her tragic death, Geldof posted a picture of her as a baby with her mother on Instagram. Yates was found in her Notting Hill home with daughter Tiger Lily alongside her.

Her grief stricken family would not comment on these reports.

"I cannot confirm anything as an inquest is taking place. The family have no statement," a spokesperson said.

Cohen asked a family friend to visit their home after he failed to contact his wife. The last known contact she had was with a friend was that Sunday at 7:45 a.m.

Geldof was referred to as an "attachment parent" to her two children, 23-month-old Astala and 11-month-old Phaedra. Her husband is the front man of British rock band "S.C.U.M."

After her death her father stated, "We are beyond pain."

The rock heiress worked as a TV presenter, columnist, and model in her life in addition to being a mother.
