Red Carpet Goes Pale at the 2013 Academy Awards

The Oscars is one of the most popular and awaited events of the year where fashionistas get their dose of the latest trends in Hollywood. And this time pale colors ruled the red carpet.

Black and midnight blue were the prominent colors at the Grammy Awards but colors like white, cream and nude were the rage at Oscars this year. Right from actress Jessica Chastin, Jennifer Lawrence, Charlize Theron and Amy Adams to Kristen Stewart, Amanda Seyfried and Brandi Glanville, all chose pale colors.

Anne Hathway revealed that she had a tough time selecting her dress as she gushed, "I didn't know what I was wearing until two hours ago. I tried on a ton of dresses," WWD quoted her. "I loved the simplicity of it. And this sounds weird, but I'm 30 and I feel 30 in this, And that's a very positive thing. I feel lucky - to be wearing it," she said about her Prada gown.

"Hunger Games" star Jennifer Lawrence dazzled in a Dior haute couture gown. "I knew it was the one," she said. Talking about how excited she was about the event, she said "I totally forgot to eat and now I'm starving. McDonald's is right there. I just want a freaking Happy Meal. I can eat it in the bathroom." Co-star Bradley Cooper too seemed to adore Lawrence and her Dior gown.

Stars like Jane Fonda and Marcia Gay Harden added a pop of color to the red carpet in yellow and red gowns and midnight blue too made an appearance on Jennifer Hudson and Helen Hunt.

Jennifer Aniston ended her four year absence from the Oscars and came back with a bang dressed in a red floor length off the shoulders gown. With her trade mark hairstyle, the 44-year-old was a delight to watch as she presented the award for Best Costume Design alongside actor Channing Tatum.
