Nominations for the 85th Annual Academy Awards Revealed

After numerous technical glitches and some patience on the part of viewers, the nominations for the 85th Annual Academy Awards have finally been revealed. And it is pretty exciting we must say. While some of the nominations were expected, there sure are some that came as shockers.

Ang Lee's "Life of Pi" and Ben Affleck's "Argo" pretty much rule the roost. The Taiwanese director already has an Oscar to his name for "Brokeback Mountain" and now it looks like he is ready to make some brand new additions. Expressing his delight over the nominations, Lee said to Reuters, "I am deeply honored, and frankly a little overwhelmed, by all of the nominations that 'Life of Pi' has received this morning."

"So many talented people gave everything they had to this film ... and to see all of them receive this kind of recognition is something I am incredibly grateful for," he added.

Ben Affleck too must be riding high as his film "Argo" has picked up seven nods for Actor in a Supporting Role, Film Editing, Original Score in the Music Category, Best Picture, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing and Adapted Screenplay.

Other films to receive nominations were:
