X-Factor Eliminations: Emblem3 and L.A. Reid

X-Factor eliminates Emblem3, Simon Cowell's favored group, despite having a huge fan following and one of the favorites among the judges. L.A Reid will not return for X-Factor Season 3.  


Audience votes show Thirteen year old phenom, Carly Rose Sonenclar (Elton John's Your Song, John Lennon's Imagine), Country Singer Tate Stevens (Craig Morgan's Bonfire, Clay Walker Fall) and Girl Group Fifth Harmoney (Ellie Goulding's Anything Could Happen, Impossible) are still the favorites and remain for the next round. 

Emblem3 sang Peter Frampton's Baby, I Love Your Way, mixing reggae and rap and Beatles Hey Jude, which Simon Cowell remarked "I just feel so proud of what you've achieved here tonight."

"I believe in miracles. I could not be happier," said a proud Cowell. L.A. agreed, adding, "I'm very shocked. You said last night anything can happen and it just did."

"I was a little disappointed. I thought it was going to be the other way around with the groups," said Britney Spears. Spears was shocked that Fifth Harmony won the audience votes over Emblem3.

Emblem3 thanked their fans for their support, Member Drew Chadwick said "It's all about the mass majority of people who watch the show and who's appealing to them specifically," adding "Bottom line is we had the dopest experience. We got everything we really wanted out of this competition, which was a solid international fan base."

Both L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell have shown interest in signing Emblem3 trio: Wesly, Keaton Stromberg and Drew Chadwick.

L.A. Reid Epic Records Chairman is leaving as a judge in X-Factor. In interview with Access Hollywood, Reid said "I have a company to run that I've kind of neglected." Reid is expecting to release hits for singers Avril Lavigne and Ciara, whose album has been moved around the X-Factor schedule.

Chadwick of Emblem3 understands L.A. Reid's decision to leave the show saying: "I think L.A. Reid is more of a creative, behind the scenes production type of dude. Reality TV is more about the TV show and producing the television show more than the music."
