5 Best Beauty Gadgets From the 2021 CES Tech Conference

The Yves Saint Laurent Rogue Sur Mesure Powered by Perso.

Every year, the Consumer Technology Association produces CES, the "most influential tech event in the world." CES is a showcase of the latest innovations in different industries. CNET has listed down the most covetable devices in the beauty and personal care category that you'll want to own in 2021. Here are the best beauty gadgets from the 2021 CES tech conference.

Flō

For people suffering from constant allergies or hay fever, you can soon wave goodbye to allergy pills and their side effects. Flō is a device that uses red light and NIR (near-infrared) to inhibit the release of histamines when your body encounters allergens such as dust, pollen, animal dander, and others.

The device looks like your typical nasal spray. Simply insert it in your nostril and let the device run for 10 seconds and repeat on the other nostril. Flō is currently undergoing an approval process from the FDA so it can be sold over the counter. It's projected to be available in late 2021 and will cost around $100.

L'Oréal Water Saver

L'Oréal has partnered with Swiss innovation company Gjosa to develop Water Saver, a hair washing system that reduces the amount of water used to wash clients' hair by up to 80 percent. CNET reports that a standard shampoo at a salon wash station uses eight to ten liters of water per minute. Water Saver has reduced that to just two liters by micronizing the water.

That means the device breaks water droplets into smaller ones, so water flows quicker through the showerhead. In addition, there's an option to infuse the water with shampoo, so foam is produced right away. Users can switch back to water-only mode when it's time to rinse out shampoo or other hair treatments.

Salons won't even have to change existing shampoo stations. Water Saver can be plugged into existing plumbing. It's already being used in several New York and Paris salons, and by 2022, you can buy a Water Saver shower nozzle for home use.

Panasonic Nanoe Hair Dryer

Panasonic's new Nanoe hair dryer draws moisture from the air to hydrate hair and protect it from potential damage from heat styling. It also has an oscillating nozzle to dry hair faster. This is somewhat of an additional safety feature as the nozzle keeps the air moving throughout your hair rather than concentrating heat on just one spot.

Philips Sonicare Prestige 9900

No electric toothbrush is as intelligent as the new Philips Sonicare Prestige 9900. This electric toothbrush uses sensors to detect your brush movements, and a Sonicare app will show you how to improve your brushing habits. Those sensors will also tell you when you're brushing too hard.

To lessen irritation and sensitivity, the toothbrush will automatically adjust its vibration level when you press too hard on your teeth or gums. The Philips Sonicare Prestige 9900 will be available in April 2021.

Yves Saint Laurent Rogue Sur Mesure Powered by Perso

It will take a hardcore beauty junkie to appreciate YSL's Rogue Sur Mesure. This device allows a user to customize lipstick shades with pre-selected, three-shade cartridges in four color families — nude, orange, red, and fuschia.

L'Officiel writes that all cartridges feature YSL's Velvet Cream Matte Finish formula and that the device can be connected to an app to create custom colors. The beauty gadget will deposit the right amount of product, which you'll then mix with the included lip brush and apply on lips.

The dispenser or compact is detachable, so you can bring your custom shade with you for touch-ups. The device is priced at $300, with each cartridge at $100. Available in Spring 2021.
