Calling Fashion Designers! This Royal Has No Wedding Dress Yet!

Royal Wedding England

A royal wedding is set to happen as a new year comes upon us.

Official news from the Buckingham Palace reveals the engagement of Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice of York to British property developer Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Princess Beatrice wedding date is set for 2020, further details to be announced.

Designers are expected to flock in droves to win the heart of the Royal Princess, but rumor has it that it's the other way around.

Apparently, Princess Beatrice engagement to her childhood friend Edo Mozzi has not become as much of a buzz word as the engagement of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex Prince Harry and Megan Markle or that of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Prince William and Kate Middleton.

According to Radar Online, the royal is reportedly having a challenging time finding someone who will design her dress. The royal is said to have expected fashion designers to be desperate to create her gown, but so far, no designer has taken interest.

The report further reveals that Princess Beatrice had her assistants call major fashion houses and has "embarrassingly received lukewarm responses."

Royal Rivalry

While there are talks about how different Princess Beatrice's wedding will be from her younger sister's wedding last year, royal fans can't help but compare her engagement to Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton.

As excitement over another royal wedding trickle, royal fans look back at royal wedding gowns too! We've seen Kate Middleton wear an Alexander McQueen designed by Sarah Burton while Meghan Markle had her lasting moment in a Givenchy gown designed by Clare Waight Keller.

The comparison is reportedly making the Princess of York anxious knowing her engagement, wedding, and even her wedding gown will "forever be compared" to the two Duchesses, adding that Princess Beatrice "can't shake the feeling she's an afterthought."

Princess Beatrice may not be the first to feel the pressure after the royal weddings of the two Duchesses. Her younger sister, Princess Eugenie got married last year in a wedding gown by an under-the-radar brand from London Fashion Week - Peter Pilotto, albeit having worn Vivienne Westwood and Erdem in the past.

Royal Wedding Gown Predictions

Royal onlookers are predicting that Princess Beatrice could use a designer previously chosen for a royal wedding.

Further, if the 2020 Royal Wedding will take place at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle, like Prince Harry's and Princess Eugenie's weddings, she most likely will don a long wedding veil and a tiara.

Princess Beatrice is known to wear an array of designers on the red carpet. She has worn Valentino, Alberta Ferrett, and MSGM, among others. Seemingly favorites have been British brands Roksanda and Mary Katrantzou.

In that line, Princess Beatrice may choose to hire a British designer for her royal wedding.

As for her personal style, Princess Beatrice is known for opting bold, head-turning colors, prints, and accessories. She previously wore a Stephen Jones fascinator to Prince William and Kate's wedding. So odds are, she will want a playful take on her wedding dress too.

But for now, she needs to find a designer for her big day. And oh, it must be expensive too as both Kate and Meghan paid hundred thousand pounds for theirs.
