Nicki Minaj Slammed By Safaree Samuels' Girlfriend Sophia Body For Not Writing Her Own Songs

Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill may have shocked fans with their yet-to-be-confirmed engagement last week, but it's her ex, Safaree Samuels, and his rumored girlfriend, Sophia Body who are making headlines with some controversial remarks regarding the rap couple.

Mstars reports that in an interview with Vlad TV, the model opened up about rumors that she and Minaj's ex are a couple, confirming that they have in fact dated, however, the duo ended things after just a month deciding it was best to remain friends.

"We started dating like over a month ago. It never got serious," Body reveals of her and Samuels' dating history.

However, perhaps the most shocking claim came when the model gushed over Samuels' talents as a rapper, giving her own opinion about those nonstop ghost writing rumors that plagued the "Anaconda" rapper after splitting from her beau of nearly eleven years.

When asked about how she encouraged Samuels to pursue his own career, Body responds, "I've known Safaree for a few years, several years. As soon as I met him, I knew he was like, an amazing person. He has a good heart, very talented...just from the things he was saying about my brand, I was like, 'Yo, you should do what you're telling me to do for yourself.'"

She then added, "You [Samuels] can write, you write all Nicki's s**t, clearly."

The reporter stops her, asking for clarification with, "He writes all of Nicki's s**t?"

"Well, mostly," she says, clearing her throat and throwing some obvious shade towards the camera.

"I mean, he's never said that," the reporter presses on.

"He wouldn't," she added, before noting that he's just "being modest" about the help he presented to his ex.

She then concluded, "He's helped, I guess we'll see at the next album."

Instantly, fans of the "Only" rapper took to Twitter to slam the Canadian model for discrediting Minaj's "The Pinkprint" album, leaving Body to backtrack on her comments in the interview and clarify her point via the social media site.

"I just want to clarify. Wasn't trying to discredit Nicki. She's a great artist. Nor was I trying to say she doesn't create her own work. I was trying to glorify under credited artist...That's it. I wish Nicki well, I'm a fan and I've never meant anything by it. I get defensive when it comes to people I love."

What do you think of Body's comments, was she trying to throw some major shade towards Minaj?
