The "Purple Rain" hitmaker has been busy making special appearances on award shows this 2015, the latest of which was when he came out during the 2015 Golden Globes to announce the winner in the Best Original Song category.

Sporting his signature sunglasses, he presented the Golden Globe award to John Legend and Common for their song "Glory," from the film "Selma." The song has also been nominated for an Academy Award.

Prince's surprise appearance at the Golden Globes was announced only hours before the live telecast of the ceremony.

Prince's latest album "ART OFFICIALAGE" was released in Sept. 14, along with "PLECTRUMELECTRUM" with 3RDEYEGIRL.

Hopefully, fans will witness a live performance of a song off his most recent album in this year's Grammys!

Meanwhile, in other Grammy news, Tom Petty apparently won't be receiving a Grammy award alongside Sam Smith if the latter's hit single "Stay With Me" wins the category it was nominated in, Billboard reported.

The 22-year-old British singer, who has been nominated for six Grammys, recently acknowledged that "Stay With Me" has similarities with 1989 song "I Won't Back Down" and gave Petty and Jeff Lynne co-writing credits for his hit single.

However, the Recording Academy won't be recognizing Petty and Lynne if ever Smith's song does win.

"Since Lynne and Petty didn't do any new writing for this work, we are considering their original work to have been interpolated by Napier, Phillips and Smith for 'Stay With Me,'" said Bill Freimuth, the Recording Academy's senior vice president for awards.

"Lynne and Petty will not be considered nominees nor will they be considered Grammy recipients, should the song win. Rather, they would be given certificates to honor their participation in the work, just as any other writers of sampled or interpolated work," he continued.
