Columbus Short, Kris Kelli Set To Host 'Scandal' Season 4 Premiere Party; Fired Actor Thanks Gladiators, Shonda Rhimes For Support Amid Recent Ordeal

Columbus Short, the "Scandal" actor who got fired from the show in April, is set to return for his gladiator fans in the special premiere party of the series' fourth season, Us Weekly has learned.

Short, who played Harrison Wright - Olivia Pope's right-hand man on the series - is reportedly hosting the event with Kris Kelli.

The 32-year-old television actor announced the good news to his Instagram followers by posting a flyer that promotes the premiere party, which is set to happen at Googalou Lounge in Atlanta, Ga.

"GLADIATORS #standup #ItsGoingDown #Gladiator available tomorrow on #ITUNES and the long awaited premiere of #Scandal @kriskelli @bigblockesc #CoStarz," Short captioned the post.

Short made headlines on Valentine's Day after he was charged with misdemeanor spousal battery and was ordered to keep distance from Tuere Short, his estranged wife who later filed for divorce.

The "Stomp the Yard" actor was arrested again in late March and was charged with felony battery following a restaurant brawl.

After the said incidents, Short announced his departure from the hit ABC series after being part of its main cast for three seasons.

"At this time I must confirm my exit from a show I've called home for 3 years, with what is the most talented ensemble on television today," he said at the time.

"I would like to first thank [creator] Shonda Rhimes for the opportunity to work with such an amazing cast. Thank you GLADIATORS, who have supported me throughout my entire career and of course to ABC and Shondaland for allowing me to play such a pivotal role in the Scandal series. I have enjoyed every single minute of it," he continued.

Short then recognized that "everything must come to an end," adding that he only wishes nothing but "the best for Shonda, Kerry and the rest of the cast, who have become like a second family to me in such a short amount of time. For this, I will forever be grateful."

In July, Short gushed in an interview with Access Hollywood that most if not all of the people behind the series "knew that I was going through a tough season and... they did the right thing."

Last month, the fired "Scandal" actor was arrested again after ditching a hearing on his domestic violence case to go to the Caribbean.

In a quick interview with TMZ, Short justified his trip, saying he still deserved a break from the case.
