MTV's Diem Brown Diagnosed With Cancer For Third Time; 'She's Tough As Nails' Says Sister

It unfortunately came in threes for MTV star Diem Brown, who recently revealed that she is to face cancer for the third time, People first reported.

"It's been a dark couple of days," the 32-year-old reality star said about her third cancer diagnosis this week. "But the outpouring of support has been tremendous. It's truly what will keep me fighting."

After battling ovarian cancer twice, Brown was diagnosed with colon cancer next, She even underwent two surgeries after collapsing while filming a new reality show, according to Hollywood Life.

On Aug. 17, she had a procedure to remove a tumor that was blocking her colon.

"Doctors found one tumor blocking her colon completely so they had to do emergency surgery that evening to remove the blockage," Diem's sister Megan said. "They were able to remove the mass, but once they were inside they found out there were multiple tumors."

Three days after, she underwent an emergency surgery to treat the complications from the first one.

"The second surgery was two steps back," Megan said of the second procedure. "But hopefully in the next few weeks she'll be well enough to start chemo."

Though she is currently in stable condition in the ICU of a New York City hospital, Brown is expected to remain in the health facility for two more weeks.

It can be noted that Brown shared her battle against ovarian cancer in a blog for People magazine.

"I'm so fortunate to have a platform as I know I'm not the only one out there going through something like this," she said in one of her posts.

"I promise to keep trucking along if for nothing else but others who need to know it is possible to beat this horrible disease once and for all!" she added.

Amid Diem's recurring battle with cancer, Megan maintains that her sister will make it because she's "such a fighter. She's tough as nails."

"This is the third time she's had to deal with this and she's ready for it. It's definitely an uphill battle, but I know if anybody can do it it's her," Diem's sister finally said.

"Diem is in such high spirits today thanks to the love and support people have shown since this news was announced," Alicia Quarles, one of Diem's closest friends, said.

"I've seen Diem battle this horrific disease and come out victorious twice before. It is unfair and surreal that once again she is being put in this position," Quarles added.

In her first battle against cancer, Diem had to have one ovary, a part of her fallopian tube and several lymph nodes removed at age 23, noted Daily Mail.

Two years later, it was found out that her other ovary had been affected by cancer cells; hence, it was also removed.
