Ian Somerhalder Foundation Fraud: Nina Dobrev's Instagram 'The Vampire Diaries' Season 6 Cast Boyfriend's Taxes Reveals Cheap Donations, CW Star Does Damage Control and Launches ISF Sanctuary Project

New reports are claiming that Ian Somerhalder may be fooling donors when it comes to his charity, the Ian Somehalder foundation.

According to RadarOnline, "The Vampire Diaries" season 6 cast member's tax documents for his conservation charity revealed that only $550 grant was donated after taking in more than $300,000 in donations in the recent year.

Tax documents filed by the Ian Somerhalder Foundation which was created to "advance science," "promote the conservation of natural resources," and "provide relief to the poor, distressed or underprivileged" have revealed that the charity took in $365,440 in contributions and grants from donors in 2012 plus an additional $34,457, amounting to a total income of $400,072.

In that same year the charity only paid out one grant which was to the Best Friends Animal Society and Wildlife Rehab for $550.

Breaking down where the rest of the money went, documents revealed that the Ian Somerhalder Foundation paid out $26,000 in salary to employees and $579 in employee benefits.

A total of $16,692 went to lawyers and the accounting department was paid $29,680. Office expenses combined with rent totaled nearly $21,000 while travel expenses added up to $20,122 for just one year.

Insurance coverage came out to be $10,079 while paypal fees alone totaled to $7,077.

Additional expenses added up to $152,917 which is more than 278 times the amount of grants paid out.

Despite the evidence in the tax records, Ian Somerhalder has announced a new project for his charity and has even broken down just how much money the foundation will be donating.

In an announcement letter the 35-year-old revealed that he was opening an animal sanctuary through his charity.

Part of the letter read, "Babies are incredible vessels of life because they have the opportunity to teach you, push you to explore, nurture your sense of compassion and ultimately create hope.

"I guarantee you that this baby will do just that for me and for countless others. Now before you imagine me holding a tiny version of myself, that's not the kind of baby I'm announcing. It's the ISF Sanctuary Project!"
