With season 5 underway "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy announced via Twitter that former American Idol contestant, Adam Lambert will appear in the series' upcoming season.

Murphy announced to his nearly 500,000 followers that the "Mad World" singer will join the cast, he tweeted, "I am thrilled to announce that the super talented Adam Lambert is joining the cast of Glee this fall."

The singer responded to Murphy's tweet by writing, "I'm so excited!! ;)."

According to the Daily Mail, there is no word on whether he will be a guest or regular member of the cast seeing as Fox recently confirmed that four cast members will not be returning as series regular when season 5 airs.

There have been speculations that the characters who are likely not returning as regulars are Heather Morris, Amber Riley, Mark Salling and Harry Shum, Jr.

Many believe that Morris will definitely not return because the star is currently pregnant with her first child.

Her co-star and friend, Naya Rivera recently spoke about Morris' pregnancy during an interview with Perez Hilton.

She told Perez TV that the actress has not really changed since the pregnancy, "She's so cute. She just looks adorable. She just looks the same, except someone stuck a huge belly on her. Everywhere else, you're like, 'You're not pregnant.'"
