What could be a more indulgent treat during the holiday season than a serene, relaxing bath in the comfort of your own home?

For those who want an amazing bath experience, Mariah Carey has shared in an interview with People her special bath recipe for those seeking a splash of luxury and relaxation after a long day.

Here are Carey's secrets to crafting the ultimate, peaceful bath experience.

Bath salts instead of bath bubbles

The music icon said she isn't a fan of overflowing bubbles in her bath, noting that it can get chaotic. Her preference? Bath salts reign supreme, especially when seeking relief for sore muscles.

"If someone is kind enough to say, 'Okay, I know you're probably going to want to get inside and go in the bath, so I'll run it for you.' Well . . ." Things can go wrong," Carey told the outlet. "They put in too many bubbles. That gets a little bit out of control because then you can't just lay back without getting bubbles all over you."

"I prefer the bath salts, and those can really be good, especially if you're a little sore or whatever, you can just soak in bath salts," she added.

Choose good bath salt scents

The "All I Want for Christmas Is You" hitmaker also generously revealed her go-to bath salt choices. She shared that she currently favors the invigorating orange-scented salts, praising their excellence.

Additionally, she highlighted the calming effects of lavender-infused salts, emphasizing their relaxation properties.

"My latest favorite are the orange ones. They're really good," Carey raved. "Then there's the lavender ones that are really relaxing."

Put just the right amount of bath salts and bath oils

Carey suggested a generous but not excessive portion of bath salts. Additionally, the "Obsessed" singer recommended adding bath oils to enhance the experience.

"I can't pour a whole jug of bath salts into the bath but you know, a pretty good amount," she said. "And then maybe some bath oils."

Keep your phone within reach

The singer said she keeps her phone close during her bath time rituals.

She humorously recounted instances where callers expressed frustration over the sound quality inside her bathroom. But she suggested she's unlikely to change her habit of answering calls while in the bathtub anytime soon.

Take milk baths

Before wrapping up the interview, Carey noted to herself, "I need to take milk baths again," according to People.

In a conversation with The Guardian in 2018, the renowned singer debunked rumors of bathing exclusively in French mineral water. When asked about the speculation, she responded, "No, I bathe in milk."

Confirming her unconventional beauty regimen, she hinted at using milk occasionally for its beauty benefits, adding, "I don't want to give away all my secrets."

When asked about the temperature, she specified, "Cold milk."

Regarding the speculation about her bathing habits, she teased, "Well, I guess if there's no clean water and I had to use mineral water, maybe I would," accompanied by a playful smile.
