In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and to commemorate breast cancer survivors and their courageous battles, physicians nationwide are offering survivors a chance to start afresh with the PicoSure laser.

If you haven't heard of this new treatment, where have ya been? Picosure is the world's first picosecond aesthetic laser for tattoo removal, which effectively erases tattoos with fewer treatments and better results.

Even tattoos that have been treated previously, but failed to clear can be removed with this patented PressureWave technology.  The innovations is now part of "New Beginnings: Radiation Mark Removal" Program.

"For cancer patients who receive radiation treatment, a small blue or black tattoo is applied on their skin to accurately aim the radiation on the affected area," explained Dr. Jeremy Brauer of The Laser and Skin Surgery Center in New York. Dr. Jill Lezaic of Laser Skin Solutions Jacksonville.

"For many survivors, they decide to have their tattoo removed as the final step to their full recovery."

Dr. Emil Tanghetti  of The Center for Dermatology and Laser Surgery in Sacramento, CA agrees. "For my patients that are breast cancer survivors, the radiation mark that remains after treatment is a constant daily reminder of their disease," the expert said.

"My patients have remarked that after laser treatment to remove the radiation tattoos, they experience something far beyond the cosmetic improvement that comes from removing these marks."

"One patient that I recently treated noted that the removal of this visible vestige of breast cancer treatment is truly liberating. This sentiment has been echoed by many of the patients I have treated through this program" the physcian continued.

New Beginnings is a philanthropic campaign offering free radiation mark removal for cancer patients. The technology gently delivers ultra-short pulses of energy to the tattoo ink in trillionths of a second without injury to the surrounding skin.  This shatters the ink into tiny particles that are easily eliminated by the body.

Patients who wish to take advantage of this very special offering must simply contact participating physician's offices to schedule a consultation. Patients must provide the physician with an official letter from their oncologist or radiologist approving the removal of any radiation marks or tattoos.
