Are we getting "The one that got away" part two? Cosmopolitan cover girl Katy Perry confirmed she will write songs about former love John Mayer.

"There's no bad blood," she told Glamour magazine. "But I'm sure there will be inspired songs."

Mayer is actually not bothered by this, and understands that it is part of the business.

"I have super strength for gang-ups. I'm fine," the womanizing musician told TMZ.

"That's what you're supposed to do, man. You're supposed to write songs. You're just not supposed to tell everybody you're doing it. I actually want everybody's song to go number one. I purposely stopped writing hits to give other people a chance to have number one songs. I just stand to the side."

We told you last week that Perry was announced as the first woman to cover all 62 editions of Cosmopolitan magazine. In honor of the first global issue, she sat down with Chelsea Handler and joked about past flames.

"You were married to (Russell Brand). Then you broke up and started dating John Mayer. These are two men that most people would say, 'If you're not going to date two people in this world, it should be these two,'" Handler joked.

Perry also had a message for her young fans who could be sneaking to read the issue.

"If you're secretly reading this mag and not really allowed to, don't worry, I did it too."

She was also praised by editor-in-chief Joanna Coles for her massive success in music.

"Katy's music and attitude have universal appeal to young women everywhere," she praised.

"She crosses all cultural boundaries. Her music is soulful and empowering in equal measure. She's the first Cosmo global icon."
