Former "American Idol" winner Scotty McCreery fell victim to armed robbery earlier this month, and he is now speaking of the home invasion. Keep reading to find out what happened at the apartment he was visiting.

McCreery, who won the best new artists title at the 2012 Country Music Awards, went with friends to pick up burgers and planned to watch "Gladiator" at the apartment. There was a knock on the door but they were not able to see the big picture.

"One of the guys who lived there, he just figured it was a neighbor," he explained. "He looked through his peep-hole -- the guys didn't have a mask or gloves, so he didn't look suspicious at all."

When they opened the door, three other men who were not seen through the peep-hole, barged in with loaded weapons.

"The first guy in the room had an assault rifle, and he put that right against the sternum of the guy who opened the door," the country singer added. "The main guy, who was casing the living room, he had a pistol to my head and a pistol at another guy's head. It definitely puts your life in perspective when you're staring down the barrel of a pistol."

The evening after Mikkail Jamal Shaw turned himself in and was arrested for armed robbery and conspiracy. Cash, wallets, and electronics were stolen out of the apartment.

The remaining perpetrators are still at large and the case is being investigated by the Raleigh Police Department.

McCreery posted a message on her Facebook page after the incident, stating:

"Thanks to everyone for the prayers and support," McCreery wrote on his Facebook page in his initial statement after the incident. "A huge thank you to the Raleigh PD for their quick response and hard work in solving this case."

We hope they catch the other robbers soon and that everyone is okay!
